Rand Paul Supports Obama’s New Cuba Policy

Rand Paul can all but kiss his 2016 presidential aspirations goodbye, this after stating that President Obama’s questionable and irresponsible decision to push for “normalizing” foreign relations with the oppressive Cuban regime was a “good idea.”
Stick a fork in him.
Senator Rand Paul just condoned the barbaric human right violations that the Castro regime has committed over the years, including the murder of thousands of political opponents and dissidents who have dared to challenge his authority.
Both Senators Rubio and Cruz have come out and admonished Obama for this new foreign policy position on Cuba, and will surely Rand Paul’s self-inflicted presidential campaign wound to their advantage, if they decide to run for president in 2016.
Rubio vows to block Obama from putting an embassy in Havana.
The entire policy shift is based on the illusion—in fact, on the lie—that more commerce and access to money and goods will translate to political freedom for the Cuban people. They are not free because the regime—just as it does with every aspect of life—manipulates and controls to its own advantage all currency that flows into the island. More economic engagement with the U.S. means that the regime’s grip on power will be strengthened for decades to come—dashing the Cuban people’s hopes for freedom and democracy.-Sen.
